Literature Text

we must have been underwater because the cars kept driving by

the stones stood, humble
angels carved into their sides
flowers growing guiltily
people plant them as they cry.

this place is always empty
but this is where they come to pray
and maybe its cliche
but this is where we come to play
where we come to bury the day.
look into eachother’s eyes
and ask rhetoric questions
under our breath, between our sighs -
like ‘what’s so big about the sky?’
and ‘where do we go when we die?’

tonight we sat in the cemetery
and didn’t dare ignore the sounds
of crickets tattling on us ...

I think we all agreed that death belongs underground
im drunk so i hope this still reads okay tomorwo

so, ive been away for a (long) bit and upon my return i see youve been a busy busy bee. 15 new deviations since i was last here. and the lord said go forth and multiply, or at least produce heartily, or (failing at that) at least create en mass. rather than comment on each of them seperately, i think i should say that i applauded, or understood, or at least enjoyed all of them. i say it here because this is my favorite, making sense or no.

if i may, your style is reasonably enough "out there" that i'd like to suggest the work of Neil Gaiman for inspiration, a clever turn of phrase, and swashbuckling meter (whatever the fuck that means). it helped my writing alot, and whether you think you need it or not, i recommend him because at the minimum, his stuff is fun to read. i know i never read books that strangers on the internet recommend, but in case you are a little more trusting than i, there it is.
